How Librarius Works

Three core principles that keep your reading quiet, private, and yours.

1. Upload & Pair by Title

Drop your PDF or EPUB. Librarius searches public book archives (Open Library & Google Books) so you can pair it with genuine cover art, author names, and ratings with one tap.

2. Privacy by Design (Local Files)

Your books are never uploaded to our servers. Files reside safely in your device's browser database (IndexedDB). Your reading material is strictly yours.

3. Seamless Multi-Device Sync

Because files stay private to each machine, reading on a new laptop or phone takes one instant step: select your local file once to reconnect, and your cloud reading progress picks up exactly where you left off.

🔒

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026 • Librarius (librarius.space)

The Core Privacy Guarantee: Librarius is engineered so that your actual book files (PDF, EPUB) are stored strictly inside your local device's browser memory (IndexedDB). Your personal reading files are never uploaded to, transmitted across, or stored on our servers.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account or sign in with Google or Email, we collect:

Account Details: Your email address, chosen username, display name, and avatar selection.
Reading Metadata: Book titles, author names, cover art URLs, reading status (Want to Read, Currently Reading, Completed), page number, percentage progress, and optional book verdicts (recommend / dislike).
Social Interactions: Friend follows, mutual friendships, and public activity feeds generated by reading milestones.

2. What We DO NOT Collect

We never upload, scan, or host your raw PDF or EPUB files.
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information to data brokers or third-party advertisers.
We do not collect payment or credit card information (Librarius is free).

3. Google OAuth & Third-Party Services

When signing in via Google, we access only your basic Google profile information (email address, full name, and avatar image) using standard OpenID Connect protocols. We do not access Google Drive, Gmail, or any other Google service data.

4. Infrastructure & Data Security

Authentication and database synchronization are secured via Supabase using encrypted SSL/TLS connections and strict Row Level Security (RLS) policies. Only you and authorized readers can view your shared reading updates.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & Data Erasure)

You retain full ownership of your data. You may update your profile, wipe local browser data, or request complete deletion of your account and associated database records at any time by contacting us at librarius.space@gmail.com.
